Driving Mozambique since 1946
Since our founding in 1946 by the Nicolau brothers, we have played an important role in the development of the automotive sector in Mozambique. We did so by creating the first races and rallies back in the 1940s in what was then Lourenço Marques (now Maputo), and by bringing some of the first internationally renowned brands to Mozambique, such as Austin, Morris, Jaguar, and Land Rover.
Throughout our history, we have overcome many challenges and achieved many goals. Over the past 80 years, we have always been committed to the country’s development. Through good times and bad, we have always remained present and demonstrated the same spirit of courage and resilience that has always been the foundation of our work. Proudly Mozambican, we are today a benchmark in the automotive industry and one of the oldest and most respected dealerships in the country. After 78 years, it is challenging to imagine what the future holds. How will the automotive industry evolve, and how will people move? The coming years will certainly be filled with great new challenges. But no matter what happens, there’s one thing we’re certain of: we will remain true to our work ethic and respect for our customers and our employees, who have helped us get to where we are today.

Ronil is so much a part of the city that an area of Maputo is called Ronil (although we moved to Avenida FPLM near the airport many years ago).

Supporting the Community
Women Entrepreneurs’ First Plan
The plan is for Mozambican women, between 18 and 35 years old, who have a business idea, or who are taking the first steps towards implementing ideas or businesses, in the area of agriculture and sustainability, to preserve or restore the quality of the environment.
The selected candidates participated in the iDeate Bootcamp. This is an experience that aims to stimulate entrepreneurship and the development of innovative ideas. It is focussed on the area of green economy and businesses to solve challenges. It was three full days that helped to create and transform ideas into concrete actions.
These actions helped the women to create and build a sustainable business.
Barracudas Swimming Club
Ronil supports sports development in Mozambique by providing financial assistance to the Barracudas Swimming Club in Maputo.
This sponsorship, directed towards the training of athletes and their participation in competitions, aims to enhance both individual and collective performance while fostering the growth of swimming nationwide.
In addition to promoting healthy lifestyles, Ronil assumes a significant social role by encouraging inclusion and community cohesion.
The partnership equips young swimmers with the requisite conditions to excel in the sport, opening pathways to national and international opportunities and investing in human potential as well as the sustainable development of sport in Mozambique.
Maputo Karate Club
Ronil provides financial support to the Maputo Karate Club.
This sponsorship aims to supply the club with the necessary funds to ensure its efficient operation, strengthen athlete training, and facilitate their participation in competitions, particularly at the international level.
Through this initiative, Ronil reinforces its role in promoting diverse sporting disciplines and in fostering an inclusive sporting community.
This investment not only strengthens the practice of karate in the country but also creates opportunities for success and recognition for Mozambican athletes.
